Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
This is an English translation of the Japanese Privacy Policy. If there is any difference between the two, the Japanese version prevails.
Niairo (the “App”) is an iPhone app for self-checking your body type and personal color, and for checking whether clothing suits you. This policy explains what information the developer of the App (the “Developer”) handles, why, where it is sent and how long it is kept.
The App has no account registration, and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number (except when you contact us).
Summary
- Your Diagnosis answers and results are calculated and stored only on your device and are never sent
- Images for Checks have faces blurred on your device before sending. They are used only for AI (Anthropic's Claude) to read clothing attributes, and are not stored on the Developer's server
- We collect usage statistics (which features were used, your diagnosis type, etc.) without images or the content of your answers
- No ads, no tracking for advertising, and no advertising identifier (IDFA)
- You can delete data on your device in the App's settings; for other data, contact us to request deletion
1.Information stored on your device
The App stores the following on your device. It is not sent to the Developer's server or third parties (except the types included in usage statistics, see Section 3).
- Your Diagnosis answers and results, and the type you selected
- Check history (the attributes read, ◎/○/△ results, and small versions of checked images)
- Your consent status for sending images, and settings
Notes
- Information on your device may be included in iPhone backups (such as iCloud Backup, depending on your settings)
- Deleting the App also deletes the information on your device
Photos and camera
For Checks, the App reads only the photo or screenshot you choose, or the photo you take. Access to your photo library or camera happens only with your permission. The App does not read or send any other photos.
2.Information sent for Checks
Only when you use a “Does this suit me?” Check, the following is sent to the Check server operated by the Developer (running on Cloudflare). The first time you use a Check, we show what is sent and ask for your consent.
- Image: the area you cropped, with faces blurred on your device and resized to 1024 pixels on the long side
- Anonymous user ID: an ID the App creates for purchase management (RevenueCat), used to count Checks. It is not linked to your name or similar
- App version
- IP address: sent by the nature of the network. Used only for short-term rate limiting (to prevent misuse)
Your Diagnosis answers, results and type are not sent for Checks. ◎, ○ or △ is decided on your device from the attributes read.
Face blurring
- Before sending, faces are detected and blurred on your device. If face detection is not available on the device, the image is not sent
- Side profiles or small faces may not always be blurred. When people are in a picture, please crop to just the clothing
Reading attributes with AI (Anthropic)
- The Check server sends the image to Anthropic, PBC's AI (Claude) to read the type, fabric, neckline, length, silhouette, pattern, texture and main colors of the clothing or cosmetics. No user ID is sent to Anthropic
- The AI is instructed not to judge people's faces, bodies, skin color or hair color, and to look only at the clothing or cosmetics
- Anthropic handles data received through its API according to its terms and privacy policy. Under its commercial terms, data received through the API is not used to train its models
Information stored on the Check server
Images themselves are not stored on the Check server. Only the following is stored.
| Information | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Attributes read (paired with an identifier computed from the image; not linked to a user ID) | To return the same result without using a Check when the same image is checked again | 30 days |
| Number of free Checks and of Checks during the free trial (per anonymous user ID) | To enforce limits | While the App is provided |
| Number of Niairo Plus Checks per day (per anonymous user ID) | To enforce the daily limit | 2 days |
| Whether Niairo Plus is active (per anonymous user ID) | To reduce repeated lookups | 10 minutes |
| Requests per minute per IP address | Short-term rate limiting | About 2 minutes |
Server logs
To investigate problems, the Check server keeps operation logs. Logs do not include images or the original values of user IDs or IP addresses; these are converted into short identifiers that cannot be reversed.
3.Usage statistics (PostHog)
To improve the App, we collect usage statistics with a service of PostHog, Inc.
- What is sent: how features are used (e.g. finished the Diagnosis, saved a result card, ran a Check, viewed the purchase screen, made a purchase) with categories (body type and personal color type, Check result and clothing type, number of faces blurred, image source, etc.), and app events such as launches
- Also sent: technical information such as app version, device model and OS, and language setting, plus your IP address by the nature of the network
- Not sent: images, the content of Diagnosis answers, names or email addresses, or the advertising identifier (IDFA)
- Identification: an anonymous ID created by the App
- Storage location: PostHog's servers in the United States
4.Purchase information
- Purchases of Paid Features (Detailed Report, Niairo Plus) and payments are made through Apple's App Store. The Developer never receives payment information such as credit card numbers
- We use a service of RevenueCat, Inc. to manage purchase status. RevenueCat receives transaction information such as an anonymous user ID, the product purchased, purchase date, expiration date and country
- To set Check limits, the Check server uses the anonymous user ID to ask RevenueCat whether Niairo Plus is active
